The History of Guy Perry Ltd

It all began in August 1994 when Kevin Guy and Brian Perry took over the long established Lakeland Motor Services, a Peugeot dealer on Phoenix Road,

Many may remember Lakeland Motors when they were located at the Shell Garage on Abbey Road and was owned by Lakeland Laundries.

In 2002 it was time for Kevin and Brian to retire and the business was taken over by Alan Pattinson and Phil Preston.

In 2005 the business was expanded to include the Citroen Franchise to complement the existing Peugeot franchise.

In 2010 the building was converted to incorporate the new Peugeot corporate identity, with a blue box external identity and complete showroom makeover.

In 2011 the business was awarded its first prestigious Peugeot Gold Lion award for excellent customer service, the business has been awarded the Gold Lion status now on many occasions and even being the number one Peugeot independent dealer in 2017.

In 2016 a further showroom makeover was carried to the current Peugeot standard, this makes the showroom very welcoming and comfortable.  Also the dealership gained the regional Motability car scheme award for excellent customer service.

In 2017 the workshops were upgraded to included commercial vans and motorhome facilities and new MOT test bays, which is a very busy part of the business.

In 2018 the Citroen facilities were upgraded to give then a modern and welcome feeling.

In 2019 Phil Preston retired and the business is now owned and run by Alan Pattinson and his family, the business not only operates to a very high standard set by the manufacturers, but brings a family caring touch to the way we look after our customers, staff and facilities.

In 2019 five electric vehicle charging stations were installed in preparation for the arrival of Electric cars in 2020.
